Energy Efficient PC's
I have been negotiating to become the NI distributor of a range of Energy-Efficient PSU's etc.
I am wondering though - is there a market for a range of 'energy-efficient' PC's?? They would be built using only products which had some sort of energy-efficient tag on them, although would probably be a little higher in price (though these products are very high quality too). What does the masses reckon ?? PC Advice Blog Computer Services Football Chat Forum |

RE: Energy Efficient PC's
I'm pretty biased as I'm looking into this area. I know I can build a computer with a draw of around 95watts based on a mini-itx form factor capable of running vista smoothly.
From what I could gather, in order to make an energy efficient/green pc, you'd need a few things: Energy Efficient Components, hate to say it Mark but you WILL have to go with AMD, Their Energy Efficient Athlons are pure P*rn. Make sure all the components inside the PC conform to blue star energy standards AND meet ROHS. Then go into it further by making sure you spec the PC for efficiency, and NEVER compromise. On a side note, I'm going to be putting a Coolermaster iGreen 600watt Silent PSU into a 'Quiet' machine next week, which has a rating of 85% efficiency, in test results it's the best about at the moment.. RE: Energy Efficient PC's
I am looking into a different range of PSU's altogether tbh, and they have been topping a few lists lately too. I have been using Coolermaster in quite a few builds anyway, and they have been my preferred ones up until now.
The problem I see it is the fact that each 'energy efficient' component is going to bloody cost that bit more, and the overall price per PC might make them unappealing to the masses. Anyway, something to chew over for a while, and until I get things progressed with these PSU guys, I'll not be doing much about it. PC Advice Blog Computer Services Football Chat Forum |

RE: Energy Efficient PC's
Any Laptop is reasonably energy efficient.
They have to be in order to get decent operating time when running on battery power. LCD screens use FAR less power than CRT screens. And... modern CPU chips do a lot more work on less energy than earlier ones... Again they HAVE TO... beause if they didn/t your PC would turn your computer room into an oven. electronic cigarettes Dateclass101*Online Virus Removal Services*spencer iowa*clay county fair
